Take Your Medicine.
What jiu-jitsu, sobriety and a career spent treating injured bodies taught me about resilience, and how to build a life you can keep living for a very long time.

Medicine isn't always a pill.
Sometimes it's the training session you don't want to do. Sometimes it's the honest conversation, the habit you finally put down, or the rest you keep putting off. Usually it's something you already know you need and haven't taken yet.
This book is about taking it. Each chapter starts with a real problem, shows what worked for me and the people I've treated and trained, and ends with something you can do about it this week.
Resilience
How to keep showing up when progress is slow, your body is sore and quitting would be easier.
Sobriety
What getting sober taught me, and what it made room for.
Jiu-jitsu
The lessons of the mats, from staying calm under pressure to losing well, applied to everything else.
Longevity
An osteopath's view on keeping your body capable for decades, without drugs or surgery as the first answer.
